Revelation 12:7-17 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, 8 and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,
“Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.11 And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. 12 For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”
13 And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. 14 But the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly into the wilderness to her place, where she *was nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. 15 And the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. 16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon poured out of his mouth. 17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her [kchildren, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.
As Solomon said and the above passage in Revelation demonstrates, there is a time for war. I don’t mean the physical jihad of Sunni mujahideen and their United States and Saudi sponsors against the Shi’a and Christians, but rather a cultural and spiritual war against liberals in our remaining Calvinist churches. God fights for us; Satan fights us with his angels and his children who are often in our own congregations. There is a war, and only Satan’s soldiers appear to be fighting now. But what is our casus bellum? Why bother?
The Presbyterian Church used to be the largest denomination in the United States and formed the brain and backbone of the WASP culture that fought the American Revolution and provided the intellectual capital of its founding documents. In public school, you were taught that Enlightenment thinkers like Hume were consulted by Deists like Franklin when they authored the Constitution, but this is a lie. Hume grew up in a culture of Calvinist thinking where his ideas were merely fashionable liberalism and cost him nothing unlike the Reformed jurists of the 16th and 17th century who paid for their ideas with persecutions and often their lives.
Without American Calvinism, particularly Presbyterianism, there is no WASP culture and no America. Samuel Huntington has said the same thing. Calvinists were once the majority of the population in the United States and now they might be 1-3% of it. To preserve what remains of this culture, regardless of what happens to the United States, we must find a way to fix Calvinism. Over the past 100 years, Presbyterianism has suffered defeat after defeat, first in the early 20th century when liberalism triumphed in the mainline PCUSA and now as some of its conservative offshoots follow liberalism in the form of Frankfurt school cultural Marxism, sexual sin and departure from the gospel. The PCA, in particular, comes to mind, though it’s not the only “conservative” denomination with problems. Larry Ball and Dewey Roberts give some helpful suggestions on how to fix problems in the denomination itself at the level of the presbytery and general assembly. This does not go far enough since the problems are also found in academia: the seminaries and Christian colleges. There are plenty of rich dads in these denominations that can work with other fathers to harry the liberal professors in the Presbyterian colleges and withhold donations from liberal seminaries until the liberal professors are expelled. Alternatively, conservative Presbyterian colleges can be established.
At the congregational level, liberal pastors need to be brought up on charges by their ruling elders. Ruling elders will have to actually rule. This means they need to be carefully selected by the congregation. Elect sensible, masculine men with real jobs. Avoid desk jockies like accountants, lawyers, and other men with little experience outside their white collar bubble who will put the pastor in his place when necessary and prevent him from going off into left field. This is necessary because too many pastors have very little real-world experience and have gone straight from liberal colleges to seminary. Consequently, they can be idealists in the worst way: gullible and accommodating towards SJWs, POC-racialists, homosexualists, and feminists and harsh towards anyone who speaks out against such a rainbow coalition of losers. The ruling elder must therefore be an effective counter-weight to the minister. He must also attend General Assembly where idealistic SJW ministers have an opportunity to swarm. At general assembly, he must flip over rocks and logs at general assembly and expose these swarms with effective rhetoric in the assembly and align himself with like-minded men after hours. Remember that liberals like to use the language of conservatives to conceal what’s in their black hearts, so what is in their hearts must be exposed.
Of course, such ruling elders are elected by their local congregations. Ensure that they are nominated and promoted. Ultimately, only the laity can solve this problem since the clergy have proven themselves unable. Pray hard for a new Reformation and do your duty. As I said at the outset, this is a time for war, not a time for peace. It’s a sin to proclaim peace with niceness when this isn’t the time for it.
Update: LGBT+ spreads in the PCA. The Seattle PCA minister hosting Revoice speakers is a perfect example of everything I wrote above: educated at the PCA college, worked in San Francisco and Manhattan (Tim Keller’s “City Church” fiefdom), and loves the good life.
